Dr. Petritsch is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco. She earned her Ph.D. at University of Vienna & Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), Vienna, Austria and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the lab of Yuh-Nung Jan at UCSF and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. As a group leader at the Gene Center in Munich from 2003-2005, she taught Biochemistry and Cell Biology and led a lab in the study of asymmetric cell division of Drosophila neural stem cells.

Malek Chouchane, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar

OPCs give rise to glioma-like tumors via an abnormal switch of their cell division mode from asymmetric cell division (ACD) to symmetric proliferative cell division (SCD). However, glioma-associated genetic alteration and their cellular effects underlying the critical step of OPC neoplastic transformation have not been investigated yet.
